Agriculture Use

Neem Oil is cold pressed from the seeds of the Indian Neem tree. When Neem Oil is applied to the foliage and roots of plants and surface of growing areas, it will control fungal and insect pests.
Apply Neem Oil to any food crop up to and including the day of harvest, but must be diluted with water prior to use.

 

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

READ ENTIRE LABEL BEFORE USE. USE STRICTLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH PRECAUTIONARY
STATEMENTS AND DIRECTIONS, AND WITH APPLICABLE STATE AND FEDERAL REGULATIONS.

Do not apply this product in a way that will contact workers or other persons, either directly or through drift. Only protected handlers may be in the area during application. For any requirements specific to your State or Tribe, consult the agency responsible for pesticide regulation.

 

USES
Use Neem Oil on the following food crops:
Alfalfa, asparagus, avocado, beans, berries, birdseed, Brassica leafy greens/vegetables, bulb vegetables, cereal grains, citrus fruits, cole crops, coffee, corn, cucurbits, edible fungi, fruit, grapes, herbs & spices, kiwi, legumes, leafy & fruiting vegetables, figs, fruit & tree nut trees, oilseed plants, olive trees, palm trees, papayas, peanuts, persimmons, pineapple, pome & stone fruits, root & tuber vegetables, shrubs, stem & leaf petiole vegetables, tea, tropical & subtropical fruits.

 

MIXING
To prepare a sprayable emulsion, mix Neem Oil with water and a surfactant. Maximum
recommended use rate is ½ gallon (2 quarts) Neem Oil per acre. Use 6 oz. of surfactant per each 20 gallons of water used. Use between ½ to 1 quart Neem Oil per acre for normal use. Use the maximum rate for severe infestations.

APPLICATION
SHAKE WELL BEFORE AND DURING USE. Keep mixture agitated during application to maintain consistency.
FOLIAR SPRAY: Spray the diluted solution generously on all leaf surfaces, including the undersides, prior to or at onset of pests. Neem Oil may be applied using any powered or manual pesticide application equipment including sprayers, electrostatic applicators and foggers. Follow the original manufacturer’s instructions when using these types of equipment. When used as a foliar application, spray Neem Oil using a suitable high volume sprayer with adequate spray pressure to ensure complete and thorough coverage of the plant surfaces. Ensure that both the top and bottom of leaves are wetted. For optimum results, repeat the applications at intervals of 7‐10 days or 1‐2
weeks. Use higher rates and increase spray frequency when pest pressure is high.
Spray early in the morning or in the late afternoon/evening for best results. Repeat application if it rains within four hours of spraying.

Do not apply Neem Oil in direct sunlight. Always spot test plants first for sensitivity to sprays.

Neem Oil may solidify at cooler temperatures. Store above 65oF and below 95oF. If oil thickens, place bottle in hot water.

SOIL DRENCH: This solution can also be used to water the plants to control insects. When needed, soil drenches can be used to control soil borne pests and larvae of pests. When applied as a soil drench, avoid excessive run off. Neem Oil can also be applied through sub‐surface soil treatment equipment. Always follow equipment manufacturer’s use directions.

USE RATES
Under normal pest pressure conditions prepare Neem Oil at a 0.5% dilution. (1 quart of Neem Oil in 50 gallons of water with about 6 oz. of surfactant).
When pest pressure is high, use the maximum rate of 1.1% dilution of Neem Oil. (2 quarts Neem Oil in 40 gallons of water with 12 oz. of surfactant)

HAZARDS TO HUMANS AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS

CAUTION: Harmful if absorbed through the skin. Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling
and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, or using tobacco. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)
Applicators, Mixers and other handlers must wear:
 Coveralls
 Socks, shoes, and
 Chemical resistant gloves
Follow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washables, use detergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from other laundry.

 

USER SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS
Users should remove clothing/PPE immediately if pesticide gets inside. Then wash thoroughly and put on clean clothing. Users should remove PPE immediately after handling this product. Wash the outside of gloves before removing. As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change into clean clothing.

ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS
This product is hazardous to fish and aquatic invertebrates. For Terrestrial Uses: do not apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present, or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment wash water or rinsate.

AGRICULTURAL USE REQUIREMENTS
Use this product only in accordance with its labeling and with the Worker Protection Standard, 40 CFR part 170. This standard contains requirements for the protection of agricultural workers on farms, forests, nurseries, and greenhouses, and handlers of agricultural pesticides. It contains requirements for training, decontamination, notification and emergency assistance. It also contains specific instructions
and exceptions pertaining to the statements on this label about personal protective equipment (PPE), and restricted‐entry interval. The requirements in this box only apply to uses of this product that are covered by the Worker Protections Standard. Do not enter or allow worker entry into treated areas during the restricted entry interval (REI) of 4 hours.
PPE required for early entry to treated areas that is permitted under the Worker Protection Standard and that involves contact with anything that has been treated, such as plants, soil, or water is:
- Coveralls
- Chemical resistant gloves, such as barrier laminate or butyl rubber or nitrile rubber or neoprene rubber or polyvinylchloride (PVC) or Viton
- Shoes plus socks

 

Do not contaminate water, food, or feed by storage and disposal.
Pesticide Storage: Store in original container in a cool, dark, dry, well‐ventilated area. Avoid open storage. Do not use or store near heat or open flame.
Pesticide Disposal: Wastes resulting from the use of this product must be disposed of on site or at an approved waste disposal facility.
Container Disposal: Non‐refillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container. Triple rinse (or equivalent) promptly after emptying, then offer for recycling or reconditioning, or puncture and dispose of in a sanitary landfill, or by other procedures approved by state and local authorities.
